Be All In: Six Steps to Make Your Business Truly Thrive

You may have heard the story of the Spanish conquistador, Hernan Cortes, who burned the boats that brought his 600 men to the beach for battle. He did not want them to have any retreat and to fight as such.

I often see women who are “in” business but not “all in” business. They are still thinking about retreating if things do not go well.

Some women are still partially working a job for years, into their businesses, because they feel it gives them some reliable income.

Others have an attitude that they will have their own business while they search for their ideal career—frequently looking around to see if there is something better.

It is like having a conversation at a party with someone who is looking past you to see if someone more interesting is around. You can tell they are not into talking to you.

Do not ever be that woman.

No one you know enjoys long-term success while straddling these two worlds.

Women who grow thriving businesses are women who are all in. They are fully committed to their businesses and their mission. They turn down job offers because they know the joy and fulfillment that comes with being their authentic self in their work. They understand doing work they really love is about much more than just the work.

If you are not sure if you are all in or if you know you want to be more all in, in your business, then follow these six steps:

#1 Make A Decision to Succeed

In many ways success is very simple. Why do I say that? Making the decision to succeed can happen in one quick instant.

From that decision comes the drive, creative thinking and determination required to achieve your success day after day no matter what.

#2 Create Your Compelling Vision

A compelling vision helps you have the focus you need to succeed.

Without vision, you will not have the daily motivation to continue to build your business.

Create a picture in your mind of what a pinnacle of success looks like to you. Write this out, read it daily and make a picture or vision board or some other physical representation of what this looks like to constantly remind you of what you want and where you are going.

#3 Put Your Plan in Place and Keep Planning

Find the tools and people who can help you to achieve your dreams. Building something solid takes a strong foundation.

Every day review your plans and goals. Taking time every day for thinking and planning is a daily success habit that will keep you all in your business.

#4 Believe Big in Yourself

Plans will not get put into action and life’s many opportunities will distract you from your mission.

A strong desire to realize your vision alone is not enough. You also have to strongly believe in yourself and your ability to create what you want.

If you think you might now, the next step is the prescription for what is ailing you.

#5 Be Willing to Be Uncomfortable

Whenever you do something for the first time, it will be uncomfortable.

Your consistent willingness to embrace short-term discomfort for long-term comfort of success will make a huge difference.

Once you start down that road of being willing to be uncomfortable, you will see many great results, and you won’t want to go back to playing it safe.

#6 Get Support

Invest in your own success! You wouldn’t try to build a house all by yourself, would you?

Why not give yourself every opportunity to succeed by hiring or outsourcing the parts of your business you don’t have the time, skill or inclination to do?

Being all in, in your business will bring you many rewards. Because life and business are dynamic you will likely get off track, and when that happens go back to step one.

You have massive value to bring.
You want to have impact with your business.

The more all in you are, the more impact you will have, the more sales you will make and the more lives you will uplift.

Go get all in.

Warmly,
Caterina
