As a Business Advisor, I work with all sorts of business owners, however I’ve noticed that there are a successful few who really stand out. I call them “Forward Thinking Entrepreneurs” or “FTEs.”
Here’s five best business practices that they all have in common:
- FTEs identify company goals and set budgets yearly.
- They receive financial reports for each quarter and then review progress.
From these reports, they identify revenues and examine costs, average sales, meeting targets and improving performance. With regular examination, owners can react, revise and plan accordingly. - They have a marketing calendar and regularly hold review meetings to assess response and track results.
- FTEs make business decisions based upon facts, knowledge, company history and research.
They know their industry, competition, customers, and finances. They ask questions, explore options and rarely make quick decisions. - They are always hiring and looking for those that fit in their company culture and
possess the talent required for the job.
They know it takes like-minded people to make a successful company.
