Business Resilience: When Fortune Favours the Bold Like it Did For Freddie Mercury

Business Resilience: When Fortune Favours the Bold Like it Did For Freddie Mercury

Ever feel like giving up in your business?

Wondering how to make a bigger difference? Getting tired of facing so many obstacles that are preventing you from getting ahead?

In this episode of Your Business Edge – AMPLiFY! Small Business Marketing Strategies I talk about 4 key take-a-ways I got after watching the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. Watch to learn how to build up business resilience when fortune favours the bold.

How does fortune favour your boldness in business? Here’s what occurred to me after the scene where the band was trying to convince the label executive that Bohemian Rhapsody was worth airing.

1. Don’t Give Up

I hear too often how entrepreneurs and business owners give up and walk away after feeling deflated due to lack of sales and not getting closer to their dream business.

They turn to their friends, family and even business coaches for guidance, only to hear concern and advice to quit before they go any further.

Bold Advice: If you find yourself in this kind of rut, think like Freddie and don’t let the nay-sayers prevent you from pursuing your dream! If you know in your gut that you are on the right path, keep going and don’t let any negativity get in your way.

2. Be Bold. Stand Out. Be Amazing.

In today’s marketplace, everyone has competition. There’s no way to get around it.

Oftentimes entrepreneurs get lost in that sea of competition, struggling to make ends meet.

Bold Advice: Research your competition and see how you can differentiate yourself from them. Have Freddie in mind and let your personality shine. Use video to showcase your unique personality.

By doing that, you build the “know, like and trust” factor with them and once that trust is established, they feel they are a part of your community and will either purchase from you or become your brand champion and tell others about you.

3. Be the Best You Can Be

Have an attitude of being relentless in the pursuit of perfection – even if you never reach it.

Not that you are going to reach perfection but striving to achieve it will keep you ahead of your competition.

Bold Advice: Just like Freddie and the rest of the band, they worked on their craft relentlessly. With every song they created, they always felt they could do better still. Never rest on your laurels and always stay on the learning path.

4. Create for Your Audience

Freddie was often heard explaining the reason for Queen’s existence: A group of misfits who play to an audience of misfits. Together, they formed a community of misfits.

The same thing applies to your business. Know who your target audience is and create specifically for them.

Bold Advice: Always create on behalf of, or for, your target audience. Always. Know who that buying persona is so you can present yourself in a way that resonates with them.

My wish for you is to be bold, get out there, never give up and find fortune in your favour.

To your business success,

What Clients Say

I originally reached out to eVision Media when I was opening up my business. I knew that I wanted to have my brand developed, get a website up and running and was looking for assistance with on-off design jobs, but wasn’t sure how to get any of that done.

Susan and her team have always been very helpful and patient with me as things progressed. Over the last few years, I have had several logo projects along with new website projects – all of which were completed in a very timely manner with the utmost professionalism.

I fully recommend eVision Media and always encourage others to reach out to Susan when they need anytime of corporate development or single digital jobs done. Great work team!!!
