You have 5 – 7 seconds to capture your target market when they explore the search results page.
In this AMPLiFY! Business eTip I’m sharing the best 3 ways to create SEO optimized headlines so users click through to your blog when they see it listed in the search engine results page.
Your content should contain the key phrases you want it to rank for of course, but it’s also important to have those in the title too.
By having the keywords in the title you’re going to be showing Google and your users what your article is about right in the title, which will be the first thing they see when scrolling the results page after searching for something.
Here’s how you do it!
-
Focus on long-tail keywords
These keywords match the intent of your ideal market and are the terms that summarize the topic being written about.
You can gain insight into what keywords are already driving traffic to your blog or website by checking your Google Search Console. Within that you can check the Search Analytics Report and see what has already driven users to your blog so you’ll have a good understanding of what is already getting you traffic.
-
Use keywords in post title
Once you have figured out which terms are best for your blog you should include them in the title.
By having these in the title, users will know your blog post is relevant to their search because it has that same term in it.
-
Add numbers to the title
As you can see I have numbered this post and the reason why is it helps with this post getting read.
Believe it or not this actually really helps with the rate at which users see your blog post in a search engine results page and click through so if possible, work numbering into the content and title.
