10 Ways to Attracting Clients Through Kindness

10 Ways to Attracting Clients Through Kindness

Why Being Generous in Your Business Will Result in More Loyal Customers

Have you ever noticed feeling compelled to do something for those who have helped you– even if they haven’t asked you to?

That’s the Law of Reciprocity at work.

This law says whatever you give, whether it’s money, time or effort… that it comes back to you with a tenfold return.

I know for a fact this law works as we’ve experienced it many times over the years.  Almost like clockwork, we notice a distinct increase in leads that come in after making a donation or doing something extra for a client.

How Relationship Marketing Incorporates the Law of Reciprocity

Some businesses lead with hard-selling tactics to drive you to buy.  This is called “push marketing”.  But others, using “inbound or relationship marketing” strategies, have discovered how to put the power of generosity to work in their business.

How do you think your business would change if, instead of TAKING you focused on GIVING? Once you shift your focus to serving others and creating value –  it changes everything.

How would your business change if you focused on giving rather than taking?Click To Tweet

Over time, your generosity creates a reputation that sets you apart and your rate of referrals will increase as well.

So how would you like to have not only more clients but more loyal ones too?

Here are ten ways to be more generous in your business to achieve that:

  1. Be a Great Resource. If anyone needs a referral, share vendor referrals of those you know and trust.  People will see you as the “go-to” person and come to you for recommendations.
  2. Give More Than Expected.  Doesn’t it feel nice when you walk into a hotel room and there’s a mint on your pillow?  It’s an unexpected surprise.

Here’s some ideas to get you started: Provide more value that what you charge.  Go the extra mile.  Give a surprise gift.  Deliver your product or service faster than promised.
  3. Provide Excellence.  Since your business needs to differentiate itself from your competitors, how about making it your mission to only offer top-quality products and services?

This includes customer service too: Respond to all email and phone messages promptly. Give clients uninterrupted attention.  Listen to and address concerns are some ways to do this.
  4. Serve Others. Zig Ziglar once said “You will get all you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want.”  And Mary Kay’s empire was built on the premise of achieving success by helping someone else succeed.

Many entrepreneurs are in business because they are on a mission to serve others in some capacity. When you live your purpose, you’ll live a life of joy while making a difference.
  5. Open Yourself to Receiving.  Most of us were never taught how to receive. For instance, how do you typically respond when someone complements you? Do you push back and try to minimize their sincerity?

Same thing applies to your business – If you say “no” when clients, money or opportunities come your way, those opportunities will stop coming.

This means making space in your mind and heart for more.  It means accepting money, kindness, complements or assistance that is offered to you.   This keeps your flow of abundance open energetically.  You give and it comes back to you.
  6. Listen to Your Inner Voice.  Inner wisdom leads us to those who need our help.  Stop, listen and take action on those nudges.  Offer your attention, time, and advice in their hour of need.
  7. Follow The Golden Rule. I grew up with this rule ingrained into my psyche as a Brownie and Girl Guide. Essentially, treat others the way you wish to be treated – and that includes in business too.

When a company treats you right or sells you a terrific product, you feel happy. You feel loyal. You’re likely to buy more from that company. You’re likely to recommend that company’s products and services to friends, family and colleagues.

Make it your goal is to have the same thing be done for you.
  8. Perform Acts of Kindness.  Lift up others.  Empower others through a simple word of encouragement and inspiration. Share your vision of what you see is possible for them.

This article shares Small Acts of Kindness That Grow Your Bottom Line for some inspiration.
  9. Be Genuine.  Share yourself openly with those in your network.  Let them see the real you.  Build warm relationships with people around you.  Make them feel special.
  10. Practice Gratitude. When your heart is full of gratitude and you put forth effort to show your gratitude, really great things can happen.

Make it a practice every day to share gratitude.  Who has shared a referral?  Who taught you something?  Who is your favourite new customer and why?  What vendor did a great job on a project?

Show thanks for someone or something today and watch what happens.

Be Generous and Watch Your Business Grow

There are many other ways you can practice kindness and will see returns tenfold. Go volunteer, be a sponsor, donate funds to a worthy charity or even invest in a business that you believe in!

Remember as a business person we can serve with compassion, kindness, patience and respect. Being a good person not only makes you feel happier but it is also great for business.

So make it your mission to make someone’s day brighter every single day!

Is Jealousy the Biggest Culprit in Thwarting Your Business Growth?

Why Gratitude is One of the Biggest Keys to Success

Jealously the Biggest Culprit in Thwarting Your Business Growth

No magic pill, wand or formula was applied in creating this success story.

While Social Media can have many benefits to business growth, there’s an underlying, negative-based energy many people experience that could very well be contributing to the lack of their business growth.

And that energy is jealousy…

For us on the West Coast of Canada, we only get to enjoy a few months of summer warmth and sun each year. This is the time we make plans to get out and enjoy the weather as much as possible.

So it stands to reason many of the posts shared on Social Media are fun-related. After all, who wants to share posts about the hours they spend behind their computer working 15 hours a day?

Relaxing at Kingfisher SpaWhile away on holidays recently, it occurred to me there may be some who would look upon my holiday-infused Facebook posts thinking this is my life – doing nothing but having fun and going on holidays.

And when I thought about it, I’ve given them no reason to think otherwise. If a new Facebook business-owner “friend” only saw holiday-related posts, then that’s the impression they would have of me – I never seem to work!

For those that know me, this assumption is far from the truth but nonetheless, for those that don’t, I can see how they would come to that conclusion.

And the interesting thing is, that kind of conclusion has a far-reaching result that could very well be affecting their business success.

That’s because instead of being happy for me, they are feeling a twinge of jealousy.

Jealous they can’t take holidays…
Jealous they can’t go for spa treatments…
Jealous they can’t relax poolside at a resort…

And so on.

Jealousy is a very insidious thing that can sneak up and snare the most unsuspecting person.

Jealousy is a very insidious thing that can sneak up and snare the most unsuspecting personClick To Tweet

How many times have you looked at someone’s success or witnessed all of the wonderful travels they’ve been on and secretly wished it were you instead of them?

When this happens we nosedive into a lack and scarcity mindset. Our ego kicks into high gear and we get into competition mode. Comparing what WE DON’T have to what THEY DO have.

And when that happens, we’re not in an expansive, abundant state of mind. Instead, we’re stifling all energies needed for growth, which can ultimately result in a lack of success.

I did it too. I would see people like Mari Smith travel the world doing keynote speeches or private consulting gigs and think how lucky she is to live such a magical life!

But then I realized magic has absolutely nothing to do with it!

When we see people like Mari, or me for that matter, reaping the rewards of our labour, we fail to realize the labour part of that equation.

The ability to take time off, travel, go to spa appointments or relax at resorts is a product of hard work. It didn’t all happen magically, or effortlessly for that matter.

What does gratitude have to do with success?

I’ve talked before about my keys to success and aside from working long hours, having a team and building a business wisely, the biggest key to my success is gratitude.

I’m thankful every single day even if a client is upset with me.  Gratitude can still be found in the lessons learned to avoid that incident from happening again.

I’m thankful for the hard-working, integral employee giving their notice.  Gratitude can still be found because I was able to have them on my team as long as I did and look forward to how that person’s replacement will make a positive impact on my business.

I’m thankful for the deadbeat, non-paying client.  Gratitude can still be found knowing what kind of client to turn down in the future, seeing the signs ahead of time they will be a challenge to collect from.

This is what I do every day where it’s well documented in my gratitude journal I write in every night.

Success is what you want it to be. You are in control.

Despite the one-sided impression Social Media provides, there is no magic program, product or formula that will create success for you.

But with having an attitude of gratitude, a strong commitment to success and not letting jealously prevent you from thinking you can have that too, you can be successful.

I’ll let you in on a little secret…. many don’t know that not long ago Daniel and I were quite destitute. We were on the verge of losing our home and had a $24,000 credit card debt (due to identity theft but that’s another story). So I know what it feels like to be on the other side of the pasture thinking everything was so green over there and completely unattainable.

However, what got us through to the other side is we never gave in to victimhood. We believed things will get better, focused on being grateful for what we had, and worked towards what we did want.

Law of attraction expert Dana Smithers has a great solution to when things are not going perfect and that’s to ask yourself, “what do I really want?” (Watch this quick video where she explains how this works.)

So the next time you feel a pang of jealousy when you see someone post about their wonderful cruise, their world-wide adventure or their spa treatment, remember there was no magic involved in that person’s success.

Only hard work, commitment and a whole lot of gratitude for hills and valleys that was overcome along the way to that success.

Take a moment now and no matter how shitty of a day you’re having, what can you be grateful for? Ask yourself what is it that you really want? Share below, let’s all celebrate with you.

Are you willing to make a commitment to celebrate everyone’s success? Take responsibility for your actions and do what it takes so you can reap similar rewards of success?

Don’t let jealousy be the biggest culprit in the lack of your business growth. Show it who’s boss instead!

To your ongoing success,
Susan Friesen

How Is Your ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ Working For You?

Gratitude

Why Expressing Gratitude Is Key to Your Success

The Law of Attraction is all about vibrations and its job description is to ‘match vibrations’. So, it stands to reason if you are grumbling about this and that in your life then… you will attract more things to grumble about.

On the other hand, if you are always expressing thanks and appreciation, your feeling positive will continue to attract the things that allow you to feel good. Your expression of gratitude might be towards people, circumstances, situations or things.

Your ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ Level

If you really want to know how well your own ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ is working for you look at your life.

How are your relationships with loved ones?
What state are your finances in? Do you feel like you could use some Rhinosure help?
Business always growing with fabulous clients who can’t get enough of you?
Is your health good you’re always 100% present and engaged with your clients?

Vibrational energies, i.e. frequency levels of energy, have been scientifically measured on a scale of 0 – 1000. ‘Gratitude’ resides just above ‘Joy’. Whatever emotion or vibration you are giving off it will be matched by the law of attraction giving you more of the same emotion.

The person most well known for measuring frequency levels of different emotions is Dr. David Hawkins. This is his ‘Map of Consciousness’ from his book ‘Power vs Force’ which indicates where certain emotions reside on a scale from 0 – 1000. Enlightened people like the Dali Lama would resonate closer to the 1000 frequency.

Power vs Force Chart

If you are resonating below 200 then you are giving off negative vibrations.

Any feelings you have of pride (false pride), anger, desire, fear, grief, apathy, guilt or shame keep you locked in a whirlpool of negative emotions. You pay an emotional price for hanging on to these emotions and not letting them go or be cleared from you body.

Eventually these negative emotions will show up as dis-ease in your body somewhere. Your mind and body are going to be their healthiest and happiest when your emotions rise above the 200 level.

Where Does ‘Gratitude’ Reside on Dr. Hawkins Chart?

According to one article* that stood out in my research:

“Gratitude resides just above Joy. In order to feel grateful, you need to feel contentment which is a joyful state of being. Contentment is regarded by Dalai Lama as the key ingredient for inner happiness. Gratitude is one of the main ingredients for happiness.

Gratitude includes appreciation. You can bring the energy of gratitude in your body by writing a list of things that you are grateful for, that you appreciate for every aspect of your life, especially for the bad ones (the parts that feel heavy, with problems and lacks).

Higher emotions, higher thoughts, therefore, higher vibrations (thoughts are vibrations as Abraham Hick told us) are lighter. The truth is light. Lower emotions, lower thoughts, therefore, lower vibrations are heavy. Lies are heavy.”

Why Would You Express Gratitude For Bad Things In Your Life?

The reason you want to express Gratitude for everything that comes into your life is because there is always something positive to learn from any situation – good or bad. And, from the Law of Attraction perspective focus on the ‘bad’ briefly so that you are not wallowing in your own misery or poor-me state for very long.

Find a different way to look at the situation that makes you feel more positive. It may not come right away but give it time and then raise your lower vibration to that higher state of Gratitude. You’ll feel better for making that choice!

3 Business Success Strategies Nature Teaches Us at the Fall Equinox

3 Business Success Strategies Nature Teaches Us at the Fall Equinox

In the Northern Hemisphere, today (September 22nd) is the Autumnal Equinox, the official start of the fall season.

There are many signs this time of year that we are moving into a season with different energies…the temperatures are cool, days are getting shorter, leaves are starting to turn color.

As you reflect on these shifting energies, there is much to learn from nature that can help you achieve greater success in your business.

Here are 3 of these ways:

  1. Balance between work and play.

The word “equinox” means when the night (nox) equals the day. And indeed, at equinox we mark the time the earth is positioned around the sun during its annual orbit in which the daylight is equal to the night’s dark.

This is a perfect time to remind ourselves the importance of having a healthy balance between work and the rest of our lives.

When you can make sure you give energy and attention to not only family and friends but leisure activities, the quality of your work will undoubtedly improve. You can become more efficient and able to focus better on tasks.
  2. Get rid of what no longer serves you and your business.

The Fall is the time that plants start to go dormant for the winter. They shed leaves, flowers, and fruit because these parts have served their purpose in the sunny, productive days of summer.

This important part of nature’s cycle points to an essential task that we must do at least once a year – cull what is no longer working for us.

Take time to examine your office, files, and even business systems and ask, “What is still relevant and useful?” “Is this [item] actually getting in the way of us being productive in my work?”

Consider it “Fall cleaning” and know it will give you the clarity and space you need to excel.
  3. Celebrate your accomplishments, both personal and professional.

They call the full moon nearest to the fall equinox the Harvest Moon. This is the time of year when the bounty from the land is at its peak, and we love to celebrate the harvest (think the Thanksgiving holidays).

What a perfect time to reflect on the year’s successes (so far) and celebrate your prosperity. Melody Beattie wrote, “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.”

Expressing gratitude will only attract more abundance for you and your business.

These “lessons” are simple, once you understand they are a part of a natural process – and they really work.

Take a walk in a turning forest or visit a local farm to witness these powerful messages, and then find ways to reflect them in your business – and your life.

ABC’s of Business – Gratitude

ABC’s of Business – Gratitude

Merci.  Mucho gracias.  Grazie.  Danke.

No matter what language you speak, the words ‘thank you’ means the same thing; being grateful and appreciative.

Children are taught from a very young age to say thank you.  We say thanks to mom for the cookie, or to our Auntie for the gifts.  We give our teachers presents at the end of the school year to show appreciation for the learning.

We are taught that it is better to give than receive.  No matter the occasion, gratitude is an integral value that is instilled in us as children.

So why, then, as adults do we sometimes lose sight of this all-important childhood value?  Even though we might feel bad, we miss opportunities to show gratitude.  It is no longer a priority in our lives.

In business, we can’t afford to miss opportunities to say thank you.  Gratitude makes us money.  So today I’m sharing with you, 4 ‘Gratitude Tips’ to ensure your clients know you appreciate them.

  1. Small gestures make big impacts. I received a box of cookies and gift card from my car dealership for a referral I sent them.  This gesture was low cost to them, but was I impressed?  You bet!  Will I continue to refer them?  Of course. ‘Thank you’ gifts are cheap marketing for any company.
  2. Gratitude is a core business value. When a business owner takes a few minutes to publically celebrate an employee’s efforts, they are saying to the world, “We are a caring company.”
  3. Elephants have long memories…and so do our customers. Good or bad, they remember.   What do you want your company to be remembered for?  Include ‘gratitude’ actions in sales scripts, marketing activities, and customer follow-up.  Appreciate your customers, and they will return.
  4. Consistency is key. Show gratitude unexpectedly and regularly.  Don’t let the plan fall off the radar.  Hold everyone (including you) accountable to one another, and to the customer.  Be grateful daily, weekly, and monthly in action and words.

While the 21st century business model is fast-paced and aggressive, many companies are choosing to return to the ‘simple’ business model.  Consumers are demanding companies be ‘real’, transparent, and work to their core values.

I propose that gratitude be at the top of that list.  Conduct a gratitude audit today.  Plan some small, yet impactful action steps.

Remember the smile on Auntie’s face when you said thank you, and gave her a hug?  It’s time to pass that same good feeling along to customers and staff.

Remember, everyone benefits.

Top Success Principles for Breakthrough Success

Top Success Principles for Breakthrough Success

I’ve been working with several mentoring clients lately who are looking ahead and coming up with a goal sheet on what they want to accomplish next year. With the end of the year almost here, now is definitely a great time to be doing this exercise.

But goal setting can be a scary process for many…

Is business goal setting scary for you too?Click To Tweet

What often happens when big goals like this are solidified on paper and you are opening yourself up to the possibilities of what could be achieved, you may also be closing the door on what’s truly possible for you…

As an example, at first you may find yourself listing your big goals like “hold my first virtual summit”, “earn $100,000 in sales” or “write my second book”.

Then as you review the list your inner gremlin starts to kick in…

“This isn’t realistic”
“I don’t even know where to begin to achieve this”
“I’ll never find the time to make that happen.”
“Who am I trying to fool here!”
“I can’t possibly…”

And before you know it you’ve become your own dream killer.

But it doesn’t have the be that way.

Are you ready to take a giant leap forward? Or even get started for that matter? Here is https://citrusnorth.com/unsecured-loans/ to your inner critic and set yourself up for success in the coming year.

  • Decide what you want. If you want to stay stuck, going with the status-quo and not taking time to figure out what you really want is a sure-fire formula to do it.

Make a coffee date for yourself. Bring a notebook and pen. Ask yourself what you want to see happen in your life, relationships, finances and health.

What do you want to accomplish in your business this year? What do you want to experience? Imagine that you have a magic wand and anything you dream is possible.

  • Dare to dream BIG! Jim Rohn says “You should set a goal big enough that in the process of achieving it, you become someone worth becoming.”

Don’t edit yourself.  Let the ideas flow. The more specific you are about the details, the better.  The Law of attraction is powerful when you visualize every detail about what you want.

  • Create a plan to make it happen. Napoleon Hill once said, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Own the confidence that the dream that’s planted in your heart will happen.

Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve. Napoleon HillClick To Tweet

  • Believe firmly in your mind and heart that this WILL happen. Let your passion take over and provide the fuel to drive you forward. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Instead of “How can I…” (a limiting question) Ask yourself “In what way can I…..” (a question that comes from a place of abundance saying there IS an answer.)

  • Feel the fear and do it anyway.  There’s nothing more liberating than pushing through where you are unsure and then realizing success.  The exhilaration you’ll feel when you push past your own limits is so empowering.
  • Own the vision of your goal already accomplished.  Make a dream map with pictures of your goal completed.  Write affirmations that show your gratitude for accomplishing this task (before it’s occurred).  “I am so happy and grateful now that….”

Make a video with images and affirmations combined.  com is a powerful tool that makes it easy.

  • Keep taking steps forward.  When you step out in faith, the universe conspires on your part to bring you what you desire.  An object in motion, stays in motion.  It takes much more energy to move a stopped object forward.
  • Have trust. Let go of the need to control everything.  Believe in the abundance of the universe to attract the resources, tools, people, and opportunities you need to accomplish your goals.
  • Be grateful always. Gratitude is one of the most powerful positive vibrations.  Take time daily to acknowledge what you are thankful for.

When you focus on the blessings, you will find there are more things you are blessed with.

  • Engage in a morning practice to recharge. Spend time every morning thinking about your perfect day, visualizing what you’d like to create… acknowledging what you are grateful for, releasing negative charges that have occurred, and centering yourself in joy and love.

When you are grounded, your day will flow with much more ease.  With a full heart and mind, you’ll have the inner strength you need to move mountains.

You are stronger than you know, more capable than you can imagine. Believe in your dreams and know that you have everything inside you need to make it happen.

Once you get clear about what you want and own that it’s possible you’ll discover it is much easier to get what you want by taking control of your thoughts, your visualizations, and your actions!

Here’s to creating the best year ever for your life and business. If you could use some help figuring out how to accomplish your business goals, ask me about my mentoring packages!

To your success,

How to use the Law of Attraction For Amazing Business Relationships

How to Attract A Great Business Relationships Using the Law of Attraction

Holding Hands Jigsaw puzzleIn my previous article An Introduction to the Law of Attraction  I explained what the Law of Attraction was and how whether you realize it or not, it is always in operation. It could also be called the ‘Law of Vibration’ because from your words you form thoughts, and those thoughts evoke certain feelings or vibrations.

Those vibrations sometimes called ‘vibes’ are either positive or negative and they will attract more of the same. Another way to say this is that ‘like attracts like’.  So it makes sense to say that you most likely want to find business partners who have similar ‘positive vibes’ as you do.

In this article How to Attract A Great Business Relationship I’ll take you through a step-by-step process that you can use to attract a great business partner, client, strategic alliance or even support team. First it’s best to determine the qualities you want in your business associate or partner. This is called ‘Identifying Your Ideal Partner’ exercise and be clear if this is to be a true business partner, an ideal client, a great strategic alliance or someone (or several people) as part of your support team.

It’s easy to make what is called a ‘Clarity Through Contrast’ list by taking a sheet of paper and at the top put the heading ‘My Ideal Partner’ or you fill in the blank with what you want to attract.

Beneath that on the left hand side write ‘Contrast – What I DO NOT WANT’ and on the right hand side write ‘Clarity – What I DO WANT’. Just let your thoughts free flow down the Contrast side and do up to about 50 if you can. You don’t have to do this in one sitting you can do it over a few days. Then read out each DO NOT WANT response and on the right hand side write what you DO WANT.

By the time you finish this list you should be pretty clear on the type of business partner you are looking for that would suit you and your company best.

Now that you know the type of partner you are looking for you need to think about where you might meet your new partner.

Today many people are meeting potential business partners through in-person networking groups and attracting great fits through word-of-mouth referrals. Social media is a place that you can check out someone that you might be considering. For business LinkedIn is a good starting point as it has business information and may contain some testimonials about that person or company.

Facebook is also another good source that can offer information about them or not. If they have no social media sites that might be an indicator to you that this person might not be a fit with your business – or it may not matter.  If you belong to an association there may be someone in that group that is a perfect fit for what you are looking for.

Do you know of someone who met a great business contact in a shopping line? Or waiting in line to by hockey tickets?  It can happen to you too!

In any of these scenarios as long as you have identified the qualities you are looking for you are more likely to attract someone with some of these qualities. The next step is to write out a page or two of how you will feel when you actually are associated with this person in your business.

You might say things like “I am so excited to have found the perfect website development company and there is a bonus because they do SEO work! or “I love knowing that my new business partner is so skilled in areas that I am not that we make a perfect team!

Write whatever you feel will make you feel great when you are working with this person and write ‘as if’ it has already happened. You might want to start a vision board with pictures of what you want your business relationship to look like.

The final step is what is called ‘allowing’ and it means that once you have put out there what you want you need to let it be. No frantic, desperate feelings as you wait because since you know ‘like vibrations attract like vibrations’ you will only attract someone who is most likely not a good fit for you or your business!

Now every single time you get one iota of evidence that you are getting closer to attracting the type of business person you want in the type of business relationship you want then celebrate this!

It’s a good idea to keep a journal and express gratitude for all the great people that are coming into your life – even if, they are not yet your ideal business partner.

Stay focused on the type of person you want and keep these notes you have made in front of you and not hidden away in a drawer. The law of attraction states that you attract into your life whatever you put your attention, energy or focus on whether wanted or unwanted. Expect the perfect business match to start showing up – it might even happen before you have written everything out.
