Marketing eTip: Make This The Hub of All Your Marketing Efforts

Today’s eTip is about creating a diverse marketing plan…

If you think your website will do all the marketing for you, then you are wrong.

Listen to today’s 1 minute tip that explains why you need to create a diverse marketing plan with your website as the hub of all activities in order to get the new clients and customers you seek.

If you think your website will do all the marketing for you, then you are wrong.

Not only is the “if you build it, they will come” fantasy going to get you hardly any traffic to your site, it’s only one piece of your marketing pie that you should be focusing on.

Begin by identify the marketing channels that will best reach your target audience and then diversify your efforts by bringing them into the mix.

But do this always with the intention of driving qualified traffic back to your website in order to get the conversions you are looking for.

Always think of your website as the hub of all your marketing efforts, everything you do should lead people back to your site.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this – do you have a diverse marketing plan in place or are you only focusing on one or two areas? Or if you have a question, I’d be happy to answer.

To your success,

I didn’t think about marketing plans with my first website and the traffic I got reflected it. I have been more proactive with my website. I have also been working on a marketing plan for the first time EVER and I have to say, it’s worth the effort. I love the suggestion of finding the right channels and bringing the traffic back to the site. You just put another bullet point on my list. Thanks for the wonderful advice.

    • Excellent Kim, having a marketing plan and being strategic about your efforts will get you much better results.

I’m new to marketing. I used to think people would just find you. After all that seems to happen to some successful people I’ve become aware of. But that was naive. So now I am beginning to write and advertise ads, learn how to market my brand, etc. It’s a whole new world for me. Thanks for the reminder!

    • Glad to hear it Melanie! Learning how to market your own business can be very time consuming too – that’s when outsourcing can be very helpful so that you can focus on your own business and core competency too

For me, The blog Post is written first. Then from there I syndicate it out to generate leads and traffic. It becomes Internet Real Estate too since it now becomes its own SEO geography. Plus should I ever want to I can go back and change the banners, and widgets in the post also. All these make for a more customized target market experience, thus bringing more traffic to it… Thanks.

    • Blogging/content marketing is definitely one great way to drive qualified traffic back to a website Bruce, sounds like you have a great system going there!

  • It is so important to remember that everything leads back to website. So many people are distracted by the bright shiny objects, the latest social media platforms and tools etc. and forget about the basic – your website is your “home base” on the internet because it is a property that you own.

    • So true Ling! A website is a virtual storefront and needs to be treated with the same amount of energy as if it were a brick and mortar building. You want people to come into the doors to see what you have to offer – nowhere else but your website will that happen.
